Ericka Lyn O'Rourke is a life-long New
Jersey reisident and artist. She studied art outside of
school continually from 7 years old and was recognized
on a state level for her outstanding achievements in the
arts by the time she was 15. She received the National
Scholastic Arts Acheivment award, and consequential first
corporate sale, at the age of 17. In 1990, she was awarded
the distinguished NJ Governor’s Award in Arts Education.
In 1994, Ericka received her BFA from Mason
Gross School of the Arts in New Jersey graduating
with highest honors. Her Visual Arts Major concentrated
in printmaking, ceramics and photography.
Following her undergraduate studies, Ericka worked as
a designer for Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing and Random
House in New York City. After 5 years of working on-site,
Ericka left the city to pursue her art and illustration
full-time from her home studio in Allentown, New Jersey.
In 2006, Ericka along with 3 other local artists, founded
the Allentown
Art Guild, a non-profit organization designed to promote
an awareness and a sense of community among creative individuals
of Allentown / Upper Freehold and the surrounding areas.
